Located along Hillcrest Road, this four-storey landed home brings together nostalgia, nature, and family life. Selected existing finishes are preserved and woven together with cherished personal pieces — a navy blue sofa, vinyl record player, and chess set — allowing familiar memories to carry into a new chapter.
The design explores texture, materiality, and playful pops of colour, drawing from Mid-Century Modern influences and the calming beauty of nature.
Each level takes inspiration from a different landscape or joyful experience, giving every space its own character while creating a connected journey throughout the home.
The journey begins in the basement with an earthy palette and maroon accents. A mirrored entrance wall visually expands the space while concealing a hidden bathroom door, finished with a carved dog-paw handle as a playful tribute to the family’s beloved dog. The adjoining courtyard shifts into a garden-inspired setting, where patterned tiles bring freshness between the guest room and laundry area.
The kids’ room becomes a colourful lollipop wonderland, combining forest wallpaper, terrazzo, and green Kit Kat tiles to encourage imagination and play. At the highest level, the attic opens into an “open horizon”, with blue sky-inspired tones, bamboo and timber finishes, and an onsen-style bathtub creating a playful study and play space.
Together, the home becomes a backdrop for old memories to be cherished and new ones to unfold.
